What is DVD Movie files? Where can I find the files?
All DVD movies files are stored in on a DVD video disc in so-called VOB files. VOB files usually contain multiplexed Dolby Digital audio and MPEG-2 video. VOB files on a DVD are numbered as follows: vts_XX_y.vob where XX represents the title and Y the part of the title. There can be 99 titles and 10 parts, although vts_XX_0.vob does not contain any video, usually just menu or navigational information. You can find them on a DVD video disc in a subdirectory labelled VIDEO_TS (all upper case).
While opening a DVD Movie file, I got the message "The source file can NOT be opened".
There are many reasons can cause this error. The most common reason is that the needed codecs can't be detected. To solve the problem, you need only download and install K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. K-Lite Mega Codec Pack is a free collection of codecs and related tools for playing all popular media formats. The latest version can be downloaded from http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Mega_Codec_Pack.htm or http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/mirror.htm. You can also get more links from Google.
Special notice for Windows 9x/ME users,
- You'd better update Windows Media Player to version 7.1 or higher and update DirectX to version 8.1 or higher at first.

Will DVD Copy Protection affect Free DVD MP3 Ripper?
Most DVD are copy protected using CSS. This means you can NOT copy DVD files without special ripping software. Just because Free DVD MP3 Ripper uses proper decodecs to decode DVD movie files, not copies files directly, DVD copy protection can not affect Free DVD MP3 Ripper.
